- Fresh fruits and vegetables are used as much as possible.
- Fresh fruits and vegetables that are in season may be used as a substitute.
- Frozen fruits and vegetables are used when fresh are not available.
- Canned fruits and vegetables are used when fresh or frozen are not readily available. (Those canned in syrup are not used.)
- 100% fruit jam is used.
- 100% whole grain is used as much as possible.
- All ingredients and foods are low fat, low sugar, and low sodium.
- Cutting food small enough to prevent choking, is mandatory.
- Grapes are considered a choking hazard and are not served.
